Housetraining Labrador Retrievers – the beginnings of a great relationship!

Training is a great way to get to know your puppy! When Housetraining Labrador Retrievers be prepared for plenty of fun.

These energetic dogs are bundles of fun for many years and when they are puppies they really make the most of it.

Labradors are seen as being very well behaved, well tempered and generally fantastic dogs, and they are. But the trick being a good owner is to train your dog to understand the difference between good and bad.

Being an owner myself I can safely say that you have to be patient, consistent and understanding. Your puppy is going to make many mistakes and you must be able to forgive.

Once you have trained your Labrador you will get the satisfaction of being a model owner!

Starting training at a young age is great. This gives you the maximum amount of time with your lab. Training Labrador Retrievers should be seen as time well spent. You will find that both of you will have fun together and it will not feel like a chore.

When you begin you have to remember the two most important rules of housetraining.

Reward Good Behaviour

Do not reward Bad Behaviour

You should always reward good behaviour. Housetraining Labrador Retrievers can only be successful by doing this. Also, not rewarding bad behaviour is just as important.

You can reward your labrador by giving him treats or by playing for a while.

Training your lab is most certainly a rewarding process. You will soon find out how much you enjoy training labrador retrievers and maybe one day you will bring another puppy home!
